Products made from Polyvinyl Chloride (PVC) and Thermo Plastic Elastomers (TPEs) are suitable alternatives to seals made from Ethylene Propylene Diene Monomer (EPDM).

They are particularly advantageous for use in applications that do not require high heat resistance.

Advantages

  • Available in a wide range of hardnesses and colors
  • Seals can be used for welding joints
  • PVC: especially cost effective
  • TPE materials: similar properties as natural rubber products

Applications

  • PVC: automotive (edge protection, covering profiles) and construction (endings and joints of flooring, filling dilative joints)
  • TPE: automotive (door and window seals, edge protection, air-conditioning pipe holder brackets and other industries (household appliance gaskets, window seals)
